A year on and we still miss you mate. Life hasn't been the same.

Year 9 class as we watched Mean Girls........ after it finished ur new name was Glenn Cocco "you go Glenn Cocco" That's what I called u everytym I walked passed u or needed to ask something.... Class of 2009 in math class Jack getting you to teach the class bc u kept distracting every1 as he thought but u always ended up doing a way better job then him. "Your smiling face brightened my day, every day. I will miss you." This is how you signed my dress on our last day of school and all I can say is, same. You truly were an amazing human and you were honestly one of my favourite people ever, I hope you knew that. I can’t believe I will never see your big grin again, or get another comforting Glenn hug. They say every person who enters your life enters it for a reason, and I guess what I learned from you is to simply enjoy every day for what it is, to follow your dreams and to wear a massive smile while doing so. as i write a paragraph and delete it over and over again, i realise there is nothing i can say or do to express my emotion or feelings i have for you. the difficulty of loosing you is something never in my life i have thought of facing, but the time has come. although it has taken many days to actually gain the strength to write something here it will take the rest of my life to know what to say. all i know and can say is that you'll be greatly missed by not only me but all the people that were a part of your wonderful life. i love you always and forever peggy-anne allitt

Glenn... As much as I try, it seems so hard to find the right words to describe how much you meant to me, and well lets face it - to everyone. Clearly there isn't a single person who has met you that hasn't loved you. You were just so special... the most positive person with the most incredibly smile and laugh that was extremely contagious. I have so many memories that will always be cherished. Right now I'm looking at the clock that was ticking so you had to move it. I remember the first night I met you - I'd come over to Julia's late after work and tried to catch up with the rest of you drunk slappies as quickly as I could. I ended up passing out, and you told everyone that I'd "gone to macca's" lol. All the ports, rolly shoes, "You're DAHUMPED!" You thought my joke about the dock/cock being 32 degrees or whatever was absolutely HILARIOUS. and convincing Gen to get the axe from under the stairs. We laughed about these things so much, even recently. Evidently, you will be missed. It still doesn't even seem real. Life is not fair sometimes. Love you forever and ever :) Catch Glenn. i don't think you understand how much of an impression you made on people.. in the world, i don’t think i’ve met anyone that i’ve liked so much so quickly. you were a person that could literally put a smile on anyones faces, even the most depressed and angry people couldn’t help but smile when you did. it’s times like these that you realize how important those whom make you smile as much as you did really are. although it’s probably not a time that i needed it, i’ve had a complete reality check. enough of this sitting around pretending that lives good, you have to go out and live it. i know that although things that have happened are tragic, that at least by evidence of photos you were having the time of your absolute life. and i honestly couldn’t think of anything better for you. i am so grateful for that. it is such a sad time, and so much reflection occurs, and i can only hope that one day we’ll meet again, and you’ll be as happy then as you were when i last saw you. don’t think you’ll ever be forgotten, because i can’t get you off my mind. and your smile will live on forever. i love you.

Glenn was without a doubt the most amazing individual there ever was. No human, past, present, or future will ever be able to match him. He managed to make every person in his presence feel good, just by being around him. This tragedy has affected everyone, it's a real tribute to how loved he was. When someone met him, they only had to spend 3 minutes with him before realising that they wanted to be his friend and wanted to know him better. I feel truly blessed to have known him and I'll never forget all the times we spent together. His every action expressed his generous and caring nature and, although he were probably the busiest of all of us, he still made the time to see every single person he knew, and never discriminated over who was more or less important. He was the best of all people, nothing and no one will ever compare to him. I just hope he knew how loved he was, and if not, that he's watching over us now and seeing how many lives were touched by his warmth and kindness. We will all miss you, Glenn. Love forever.

Glenn Bourke you were an amazing individual. You were an amazing best friend and i will never forget the memories we shared in primary school, your laugh your smile the way you understood me will never be forgotten. Glenn was more than just a friend to me. He was my brother, and he will be missed just as that. Losing Glenn has been the hardest experience I?ve ever been through and is the greatest tragedy that could happen. When I think of Glenn the first thing that comes to mind is how when he walked into a room, people would light up. It was if there was a light beaming, not just from his smile but from his entire being. He would always lighten the mood, made every moment from sitting around the quadrangle at lunch to sitting in English class more fun. I?ve never met someone who met Glenn and didn?t love him. Nothing bad can be said of him and he has more friends than I would have thought possible. I think the hardest thing about this is that I always thought we would grow old together and always saw him and Corbin sitting with me as old friends. Cherish every moment of life. Don?t stay mad at friends. Love like there?s no tomorrow and never forget to tell people you love them at every opportunity. Glenn meant more to me than he will ever know, and I only wish I had been able to tell him that again. I will always love Glenn and I will always miss him.

It?s impossible to pinpoint single things about Glenn that made him so incredible; he was just the best of us. It?s so difficult to condense such an amazing person to a few sentences. It?s something I never thought I would have to write for a moment. I feel so lucky to have had him be a part of my life, even if it was only for a short time. Glenn made every event, every moment more fun, just by being there. Each memory of anyone that knew him will invariably involve his huge smile that took up his whole face, and a heart that was even bigger. Glenn tackled everything with an exuberance and indefinable Glenn-ness, his own unique quality. He was just the most genuine person I have ever met. There isn?t a single person who could say that he was less than the most beautiful boy around. We?ll miss him at every party, at every netball match or training session; there will be a hole in our group. He was taken from his family, his friends and the world before we got to see the great man it was so clear he was going to become. Love you Glenn. Glenn with his girlfriend Heidi He was the person on our netball team that got everyone to training, got us excited about playing and made the whole game enjoyable. Even on the nights when we were losing by upwards of 30 goals and half our team was struggling to keep their spirits up, he would still be playing with the biggest smile on his face. He didn?t let the little things like that get to him, he stayed positive through the worst of times and was the rock that all of us could rely on when we needed it.

He was a great person and everyone who met him loved him. He did everything with a smile. He was naturally smart, loved having a good time and would always be there for you. He once drove from Coburg to Toorak at 1.00 o?clock in the morning for another friend who missed the last train home, even though he had to work at 6. If any year 8?s are considering going on Bushwacked next year, I could not recommend it enough, because it was BW where I first started talking to Glenn, you make some amazing friends throughout your high school life, I?m glad and honoured I met Glenn. My best memory and every memory of him is his smile; his huge, genuine, heart-touching smile that made anything fun. He was working two jobs yet he still made the effort to go to every party, every movie night and every day trip. He tried so hard for everyone and asked for nothing in return. Glenn was going to be a paramedic, motivated by his desire to help others he said, “It?s the only job I can actually see myself doing”, and I couldn?t imagine a more fitting job for such a kind person. It?s going to be hard coping with the gaping hole in my heart, our group and my life. But I take comfort knowing that in my mind and by my side will always be that face consuming smile, which in any situation, would always take up his whole face, and ultimately our hearts.

Glenn was the real deal. He woke up with a smile, went to school with a smile, partied with an even bigger smile, and went to bed with that same smile everyone loved and cherished. He was a good student, an Australian ice-hockey player, a smart net-ball player, he knew how to bring sunshine in everybody's lives. He was a real warrior, the man with a plan. He was the Port-master, and seemed to have all the fun ideas for outings. He was a perfect equilibrium between seriousness, fun, ambition, love, generosity, work and family. I am proud and honoured to say Glenn was one of my best friends. Love always, Lawrence of Canadia.
